Just a little bit about myself, to like you know what makes me what I am. I love technology as you can see and feel it will continue to have an increasing impact on education.

SCUBA DIVING

When I was a teenager I watched the show on TV called Sea Hunt, and always wanted to learn to SCUBA dive. Years later when I had the chance to learn and become certified I took lesson and have been able to SCUBA in many places thorughout the world. Some of the places I had an opportunity to dive in are
You can view some of the links to some of these dive areas above. The best type of dives are shark dives and wreck dives. All of my children are also have certification so we have had the opportunity to dive together. I hope I can stay in good enough shape to be able to dive someday with my grandchildren.

TRAVEL

I have been very lucky in being able to travel to areas around the world. My wife finds some the most amazing trips for the family to go on. Some of these inlcude trips to:
Europe - I could eat my way through Italy from north to south
Russia - The people were so friendly
A week in the Amazon in the rain forest - I never knew animals made so much noise at night
Costa Rica - Beautiful, the mountain areas in particular
Egypt - Hot but worth the trip
British Isles - I loved the pubs
China - A country of many contrasts
Southeast Asia - Vietnam is one of the most beautiful countries in the world
Australia - An amazing place and the people are great
We have found the best way to travel is by taking a cruise - you know where your going to stay each night, you are not constantly packing and unpacking, and you have excellent entertainment day and night. I will not even mention the food.

MOVIES

I love movies. I have come to believe that even if movies don't always show the truth about life - this is what life should really be like. I know I don't have to mention my most loved film, probably the best film ever made. The best film ever made, if you have never seen this movie I suggest you take the time to see it. This one of the greatest love stories ever written - LOVE ON YOUR OWN TERMS AND OF YOUR SELF. When you get to be my age you begin to indentify with the speech given here.by Bernstein in the film.
Running in a close second place is the story of an American family and a different view of the American Dream. The qoutes from this film have become part of the American vocabulary. It presents a view of the American boardroom that makes one feel chilled to say the least. The second film in the trilogy may even be better than the first. Get in the Family mood. The writting is better and the scope of the film - which in a way is really two films in one - captures the scope of of the rise and fall of an American Family. I don't even want to talk about the third film.

Other biggies:
Cool Hand Luke - one can never forget this line
The Way We Were
Schindler's List - who watch these scenes and not be moved - the closest picture one can have of hell

There are plenty more that I could list but there is only so much time

THIS DID GIVE ME AN EXCELLENT IDEA OF USING FILM CLIPS IN SOCIAL STUDIES CLASSES AND HAVING STUDENT SORT THROUGH THEM TO GAIN A HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVE AND UNDERSTANDING

Interests:
I have developed a major interest in Asian aspects of culture after a trip through China and this has peaked my interest in some of the following;
